1. Overview and Purpose

Voltrix OS ("Voltrix", "we", "us", or "our"), hosted at https://voltrix.stream, is a distraction-free academic workstation and learning operating system engineered for university students, educators, and researchers. Voltrix integrates curriculum workspaces, Socratic AI tutoring, and an educational lecture theater (V-Tube).

This Privacy Policy describes in full transparency how we collect, use, store, process, and safeguard your personal information when you access or interact with Voltrix, with explicit disclosures regarding our integration with Google OAuth 2.0 and YouTube API Services.

2. Data Collection (What Information We Collect)

We collect only the minimum personal data strictly necessary to operate our academic platform:

We do not collect or access your private Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Calendar data, personal YouTube watch history, search history, financial billing credentials, or biometric identifiers.

3. Data Usage (How We Use Your Data)

We process user information exclusively to deliver user-facing academic tools:

Account Authentication & Security: To authenticate your identity, prevent unauthorized access, and persist your academic workstation sessions.
Curriculum & Note Personalization: To save your syllabus checkpoints, formula derivations, and timestamped lecture notes.
YouTube API Integration in V-Tube: Voltrix uses YouTube API Services to allow students to view educational lectures (such as MIT OpenCourseWare, Stanford Online, and 3Blue1Brown) without distracting ads or algorithm rabbit holes. Specifically, the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl scope is used exclusively for actions you explicitly trigger:
- Liking Educational Lectures: When you click "Like" on an educational video in V-Tube, Voltrix uses the YouTube API to record your positive rating directly to your YouTube account.
- Subscribing to Academic Channels: When you click "Subscribe" on a lecturer or university channel, Voltrix uses the YouTube API to manage that channel subscription on your YouTube account.

By using YouTube features within Voltrix, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

🔒 Strict No-Sale & No-Share Guarantee

We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Voltrix never sells, rents, leases, trades, or discloses personal information or Google user data to data brokers, advertising networks, marketing partners, or external commercial entities.

Specifically:

We do not transfer Google user data to third parties.
We do not use or disclose Google user data for serving advertisements, including targeted or retargeted ads.
We do not use Google user data to train generalized artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) models.
We only disclose information if strictly required by applicable law, court order, or governmental regulation.

🛡️ Google API Services User Data Policy Disclosure

Our app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

All Google user data obtained via Google OAuth is restricted solely to the immediate, user-facing features described in this policy, respecting user consent and privacy at all times.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We believe students should have complete control over their digital footprint:

OAuth Token Retention: Google and YouTube OAuth tokens are retained in encrypted client session storage only for the duration of your active session. You can revoke and purge them instantly by clicking "Disconnect YouTube" inside V-Tube.
Account Data Retention: Your academic profile, coursework, and notes are retained only while your account remains active.
Revoking Access via Google: You can revoke Voltrix's access to your Google account at any time via the Google Account Permissions Manager.
Account Deletion Instructions: You may request permanent deletion of your Voltrix account and all associated data at any time by emailing our team at emmanuelvoltrix24@gmail.com. Upon receipt, all account records, profiles, and associated data will be permanently and irreversibly purged from our systems within 30 days.

6. Security Measures

Voltrix OS enforces robust organizational and technical safeguards:

All communication is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.3 / HTTPS encryption.
API keys and OAuth secrets are stored in secure, encrypted cloud worker environments and are never exposed to browser clients.
Passwords are hashed using modern cryptographic algorithms before storage.

7. Children's Privacy

Voltrix OS is designed for university students, educators, and adult researchers. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to us, please notify us immediately at emmanuelvoltrix24@gmail.com and we will expeditiously delete the record.
